MILL WOODHOUSE CAFE

We are pleased to be able to tell you that our cafe is now open on a Friday as well as a Saturday from 9am to 2pm in line with the farm butchery opening hours. We have socially distanced tables inside and out and we have now also extended our undercover seating area with a lovely marquee.

FRIDAY NIGHT TAKEAWAY – THIS FRIDAY – 2nd OCTOBER

On the first Friday of every month we are offering our evening TAKEAWAY service. Collection or delivery (within 3 miles). Please pre-order via taltonmill@gmail.com or 01789 459140 by 12 noon Friday. Choose from the following :

BUSHCRAFT & FORAGING

Sat 3rd October 2020 : 9am to 2pm (full) or 1pm to 6pm (full)
Sat 10th October October 2020 : 9am to 2pm (1 space left) or 1pm to 6pm (2 spaces left)
£45 per adult. This includes coffee on arrival and a 2 course meal.

Learn how to thrive in the natural environment. Master Herbalist and survival skills expert Simon Birbeck will give you the skills and knowledge to do so. Learn how to forage for natural foods and medicines on our 28 acre-small holding and around the local countryside meadows, hedgerows and woodlands. Simon will teach you fire craft, tracking, navigation by natural means, water sourcing and filtration, wood whittling, and container construction from natural materials. You will build a fire and brew up some nettle, pine or lemon balm tea on the open fire.

Make a signature charm bracelet and matching earrings in silver plate. With lots of lovely beads and charms to choose from select your own special mix and learn to attach to your beads to create a unique bracelet and earrings. Experienced tutor and jewellery maker Pat Miller will guide you through the process in this friendly, hands on workshop.

FUSED GLASS JEWELLERY WORKSHOP with Helen Cooper
Fri 30th Oct and Fri 27th Nov : 10am-3.30pm
Price : £66 including coffee, lunch & materials.

Be inspired to create uniquely beautiful fused glass jewellery with Helen from The Butterfly Effect Studio. You will learn about glass cutting & layering, how to use glass frit, stringers, ribbons, metal foils, mica powders and copper oxides (that create stunning bubble details). These will be fired and ready to take home at the end of the day. In addition to these you will also design and make a sun-catcher or Christmas decoration which will be fired over night and ready for collection the following afternoon.

FARM BUTCHERY
We are pleased to tell you that our homemade meat pies are back! Each Friday and Saturday we cook up our homemade fresh minced beef and/or steak pies and they are available in the butchery. Hurry though … they go fast! As winter draws in we will be expanding the range to include homemade meat and vegetarian pasty’s too! We also have a range of other pastry based goods on sale.

Our veggie table in the butchery is filled each week with our own home reared (and a few locally sourced) vegetables. Field to fork at its best!
