The doors to our Talton Mill Butchery opened last week and the support from our customers was wonderful. Thank you to everyone who came. It was lovely to see old and new faces and we greatly appreciated catching up with you all again.

On the Sunday after opening we enjoyed catching up with friends and family and tucked into a delicious Autumn Talton Mill barbecue upon which sizzled our home reared meats on our home made ‘Bath-e-cue’ appropriately fashioned out of an old Victorian bath. The sun shone down on us and enabled us to take photos of this unique cooking station which will now feature on our website as it will be available for hire at future Talton Mill events, parties and gatherings.

BRITISH SAUSAGE WEEK

In addition to a full meat counter again this week, we have made some delicious sausages to celebrate UK Sausage Week which runs from 30th October to 5th November.

Lisa is busy stocking up the refrigerated counter with her soups, pies, pasties and tarts again.

Liz and Fran have been working hard to get the newly named Mill Woodhouse Cafe open for you. Their doors open at 9.30am on Friday morning.

A new name also heralds a new menu with two daily hot dishes. I am reliably informed that this week it is Talton Angus Beef & Lentil Stew with winter slaw and jacket potato and also Lisa’s Goats Cheese and Onion Tartlets with salads and winter slaw. Lisa’s homemade soup features on the menu in addition to our hearty Talton English Breakfast. Monsoon coffee will be served once again and we now have a selection of delicious loose leaf teas from Golden Monkey Teas in Warwick. The Cafe will open every Friday and Saturday from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
